You will work to develop Backchannelmedia&#8217;s core technology that provides Token Registration and Management and Research Data Access and Analysis.</p>\n<p>Job Responsibilities: <br />\n\u2022Using Ruby on Rails, develop backend code for Backchannelmedia systems that satisfy business requirements using appropriate tools. <br />\n\u2022Maintains and modifies existing applications independently as well as under the direction from senior staff members. <br />\n\u2022Performs maintenance programming for existing software versions as well as custom programming as required. <br />\n\u2022Assumes responsibility for ongoing data architect for Backchannelmedia\u2019s systems.</p>\n<p>Qualifications: <br />\n\u2022Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical and non-technical staff members. <br />\n\u2022Ability to use open source software such as Apache, Git, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL. <br />\n\u2022A solid working knowledge of *NIX. Knowledge of web programming using either Ruby, <span class=\"caps\">PHP</span>, Perl, Java, or other languages. <br />\n\u2022Good knowledge of <span class=\"caps\">SQL</span> such as joins, aggregates, stored procedures, and data normalization.<br />\n\u2022Solid understanding of JavaScript event model, as well as browser compatibility issues.</p>\n<p>Education: <br />\n\u2022BS/BA in Computer Science or related field. <br />\n\u2022Minimum three (3) years experience as Software Developer.</p>","company_id":null,"admin2":"Suffolk","published_at":"2010-09-08T22:13:14-07:00","link":"http://railswork.com/jobs/1390-associate-software-engineer-with-java-php-experience-ruby-enthusiasts-wanted","admin3":null,"location_name":"Boston","geom":"#<GeoRuby::SimpleFeatures::Point:0x92dd9f4>","feed_url_id":11,"active":true}}
