We are looking for a well rounded PHP Developer / Engineer. You should have great development skills and be someone who is a strategic thinker and can make technical decisions. Amongst other things you will collaborate with operations to steadily improve the scalability of the current site, while helping develop some really cool new tools and application features. Your work will be critical to meeting our growth and profitability targets and ensuring that our users experience a cool and consistently fast service.

Skills
* Creating and maintaining server back-end scripts/tools using PHP, SQL and other programming languages.
* Integrating back-end tools with network-aware mobile applications.
* Extensive experience of working with Symfony or other framework – CakePHP, Code Ignitor, Zend etc.
* Extensive experience of using the UNIX/Linux command line.
* Extensive experience of using SVN or other version control systems (Bazaar, Git, CVS).
Desirable Skills :
* Strong MySQL and PHP skills (Joins, Unions, optimization)
* An understanding of common security issue
* An understanding of common back-end performance issues.
* Familiarity with front-end development technologies and an understanding of the importance of modern web standards.
* Experience of unit testing. Ideally some experience of TDD.
* Experience of writing automated tests (Selenium or other).
* Experience building distributed applications and REST APIs
